Q.) What is Henna?
Ans.) Henna powder is made by drying the leaves of henna plant (Lawsonia Inermis) and grinding it to powder. Henna leaves contains natural die that dies the upper layers of the skin temporarily.
Henna paste design is applied to the skin, and when removed several hours later, leaves beautiful markings on the skin that fade naturally over 1 to 3 weeks. How dark the stain will be and how long it will last, depends on good after care.
Henna plant is believed to bring love and good fortune, and to protect against evil. Mehndi is traditionally practiced for wedding ceremonies, during important rites of passage, and in times of joyous celebration.
It is one of the most precious jewels for brides, to carry good luck for their married life.
Until the art of Mehndi became hot news in 1996, henna was mostly used in the United States as a hair dye. It is widely recognized now as a wonderful way to dye the skin and to achieve the look of a tattoo. Traditional henna uses and application processes have gone contemporary.
Today Henna is an entertainment activity for guests in all kinds of corporate and private parties, Fairs and Festivals and other special events and celebrations.
Q.) How long does henna stain last?
Ans.) Henna can last upto 2 weeks, depending upon your skin type and care taken
Q.) How long does it take for the henna paste design to dry?
Ans.) It takes around 20-30 minutes to dry.
Q.) How soon can we wash off the henna paste design?
Ans.) NEVER wash henna. Just scrape it off. The longer you keep it on, the darker it will stain. Keep it overnight or for 5 hours for best results.
Some people cannot keep henna for 5 hours. So even if you take off the paste in 1 to 3 hours, make sure not to wet your hands. Wetting the henna design stops the darkening process.
Q.) Is Henna Safe?
Ans.) Natural Henna is always safe. We make our own Henna paste using 100% natural Henna, Eucalyptus oil, lemon and sugar. So all the ingredients that goes in our henna paste are natural and safe, unless someone is allergic to any of these natural ingredients.
Please be aware of black Henna, which is not henna at all. In fact it is a very harmful chemical called PPD which may cause rashes and burning of the skin. We never use Black Henna to make our paste.
Q.) How many henna designs do you do in 1 hour?
Ans.) We work as per your budget and your party’s time constraints.
We do around 15-20 designs in 1 hour if you are on a very tight budget.
However, we can go with bigger and heavier designs if time or budget is not a constraint.
